Ecco La Cucina

Culinary Tours In Italy

Provence

We fell in love with Provence years ago and are thrilled to branch out from our Italian tours to share this beautiful area with you!  This region of southern France is filled with rivers, vineyards and quaint medieval towns, each one more beautiful than the last. Famous for its hot climate, wines, lavender and markets, the people are some of the kindest we’ve met.  The villages seem untouched by time and the markets are filled with exceptional local products – Provencal fabrics, soaps, artisan meats, cheeses and breads, lavender sachets and ceramics.

The cuisine of Provence is evocative of Tuscany with its focus on seasonal produce, olive oil and local herbs.  Unlike Tuscany, there is an abundant use of fresh fish and seafood from the Mediterranean.  The wines of Provence are primarily Rosé, with incredible red and white wines from the nearby Southern Rhone area as well.

Our home for the week is outside the small town of Noves, south of Avignon, perfectly situated for our daily excursions.  Originally a 17th C grain mill, the estate has been lovingly and beautifully restored with several houses renovated to host various sized groups.  The buildings are constructed with the local tawny stone, and the estate is wonderfully landscaped with each house having private outdoor spaces for dining and relaxing.  Each bedroom has its own dedicated bathroom.  The owners welcome us with a tour on our first evening to help you better appreciate the incredible history of the estate and area.

Our all-inclusive week includes:

  • 7 nights luxury accommodation on a historic estate, with a pool, manicured lawns and a pétanque court; all bedrooms with dedicated bathrooms.
  • All meals: breakfast each morning; lunches in various lovely towns; relaxing dinners at home with a private chef. Lunch and dinner paired with regional wines.
  • Transportation to and from Avignon TGV train station on arrival and departure.
  • Private van and dedicated driver for all excursions during the week to Les Alpilles, Luberon and Vaucluse areas.
  • Ample shopping opportunities with visits to amazing markets in Eygalieres, Isle sur la Sorge and Villeneuve.
  • A private cooking class with Michelin-starred chef in Avignon; the chef will lead us through the famous Les Halles market where we’ll shop for our ingredients
  • Chateauneuf du Pape AOP winery tour & tasting in Southern Rhone
  • Tour of Les Baux AOP winery with tasting and picnic lunch al fresco
  • Tour and tasting at historic olive mill

Rolling pici pasta!!

My daughter and I went to Tuscany with Gina and Mary 13 years ago and still carry that experience in our hearts. It completely changed my daughter’s view of cooking and continues to affect the way we cook on a daily basis. Thank you to the Stipo sisters! 🩷
